If you are suffering from hives and swollen face, contact your doctor for the proper treatment. Antihistamines are the best treatment for hives and mild facial swelling. Antihistamine will partially relieve you form the itching and will reduce the swelling. In severe cases when all other treatments are ineffective your doctor can recommend corticosteroids. Prompt emergency treatment is necessary if the severe facial swelling results in swallowing or breathing difficulty. People who have these reactions should always carry a self-injecting syringe of epinephrine and antihistamine tablets to be used instantly if a reaction happens. After a severe allergic reaction, such people should go to the hospital to get themselves checked and treated as needed.
